Dr. Shawn Wilson was appointed Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) by Governor John Bel Edwards in January of 2016 and is now serving as Secretary for a second term. He has more than 15 years of executive service at DOTD. Under his leadership thus far, DOTD has ushered in project finance and project innovations, including Public Private Partnerships and Construction Manager at Risk projects. During his tenure as Secretary, DOTD has awarded more than $4.6 billion in construction projects.
Dr. Wilson is Vice-Chair of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Executive Committee and is the President of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).
Dr. Wilson earned a B.A. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Louisiana and holds a Master of Public Administration degree, as well as a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy at Southern University.
Shawn and his wife, Rocki, reside in Lafayette, they have two children, one son-in-law, and two beautiful grandchildren.

Sue Christiansen is the supervisor over media and public engagement for the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC). In her role, she oversees media relations and community engagement initiatives for public transportation, traffic management, roadway planning and funding and public bike share. Her team of project managers develop public information campaigns that encompass all aspects of communication including media relations, social media, public engagement, marketing and advertising, government affairs and branding.
With nearly 24 years of public information experience, Christiansen began her career at The Firm, a local public relations agency, and served as a senior public information officer for Atkins North America where she oversaw regional engagement campaigns for the City of Henderson, Nevada Department of Transportation, and the RTC of Southern Nevada.
Originally from New Hampshire, Christiansen received her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Communications with a minor in Business from Brigham Young University. She has made Southern Nevada her home, developing a passion for transportation and public service and enjoying time in the desert with her husband and four sons.

Daniel Fazekas is a Principal Planner at the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC), where he is involved in a variety of transportation and regional planning studies that includes the Maryland Parkway Corridor TOD Plan, the Southern Nevada HOPE Study and the On Board Mobility Plan. Prior to joining the RTC in 2016, Fazekas helped create Southern Nevada’s regional sustainability plan called Southern Nevada Strong.
Before moving to Southern Nevada in 2012, Fazekas was a planner at Oklahoma City and a transportation planner at the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG). He holds a Bachelor degree in Geography and a Master degree in Regional City Planning from the University of Oklahoma. Danny was born and raised in Buffalo, New York.

Rob has served in a variety of public and private transportation engineering and planning assignments over his 30-plus year career. He has directed multifaceted regional councils of governments and metropolitan planning organizations with diverse memberships including local governments, state and federal agencies, military installations, business associations, Native American Tribes and non-profit groups. Within the range of his assignments, he has managed capital improvement programs for cities and regions, directed national award-winning regional transportation planning processes and planned and designed a variety of transportation infrastructure projects.
Rob has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado and received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston. He is registered Professional Engineer in Texas and Colorado.
Rob grew up in the Boston area, lived and worked in Colorado for 28 years, and since April 2019, has been the Transportation Planning Director for the Corpus Christi MPO. (That’s in Texas y’all!!)

Her 35-year career in transportation includes 11 years of service at an MPO where she participated in a full spectrum of planning opportunities that range from long-range to short-range planning, bike & ped planning, freight, and resiliency . . . just to name a few.
Her 17 years in transit planning, contracts administration, and operations have proven invaluable in providing a solid transportation foundation. Brigida earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Public Administration from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. Brigida and her husband Ruben have two adult sons and the most spectacular grandbabies, Selena Rae and baby Bowie!

As Deputy Director for MoDOT’s I-270 North Project, Eric Kopinski is known for his willingness to step into uncharted territory and apply innovative solutions to both traffic management and customer service. This spirit has been evident throughout each phase of his career with MoDOT beginning in 2009. Eric has earned a reputation as a courageous innovator and progressive thinker, leaving his mark on every project that he has been a part of.
On the I-270 North Project, Eric’s has helped bring about positive outcomes by encouraging teamwork and collaboration throughout all phases of the work; demonstrating his commitment to achieving transformational project outcomes. His impactful leadership helped the team develop and implement award-winning creative and innovative strategies that improved traffic management, addressed COVID-19 limitations early in the project, and ultimately helped to build long-term community ownership and buy-in of the work. His partnership with the project’s Communications staff, helped build and maintain strong relationships with elected officials, business owners, community leaders and residents, creating a sense of project ownership throughout the project area.
